My name is Alexandra Dieck and I am an Austin, Texas native who recently moved to New York City to pursue my dreams as a fashion designer and style blogger. In my blog, I focus on teaching women how to be creative and how to re-envision their closets to get more use out of their clothes. I also design and sell digitally-printed silk scarves that are created by making patterns with pieces of jewelry I have collected through out my life. Each piece communicates a different that tells about my travels and experiences in life. I am working to build a new kind of fashion brand. I am not just another blogger or designer in the industry… I see fashion as a form of art, culture, history, and self-expression: the worst fashion mistake we can make is to look in the mirror and see someone else. My goal isn’t to be better than anyone else but different from the rest.

LEXicon of Style Blog:
My blog is strictly personal style. I started with a simple Instagram account, which eventually led to the development of this website after gaining over 2400 followers. My main goal is to show women that it isn’t necessary to routinely purchase expensive pieces to stay fashionable (although some are worth the investment). Rather, you can re-wear pieces and mix and match the same outfits in different ways. Additionally, my blog offers a list of the items and/or a link to similar items so that users can buy the look themselves. The brands I highlight range from Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, and Alexander McQueen all the way to Zara, Forever 21, H&M, and my own LEXicon of Style accessory line. I strive to teach that investing in certain pieces is worth the splurge while other budget items can be equally fashionable. Expressing myself through fashion makes me happy, and I want to help other women express themselves through inspiring them by what they already have in their closets or giving them the confidence to take the plunge with a certain purchase.
Shop LEXicon of Style Scarves:
I recently launched my own line of silk-screen scarves, which are available under the ‘Shop Scarves’ tab. This is only the beginning, however, as I hope to eventually expand my line beyond accessories. But for now, my scarves feature intricately designed, computer-aided patterns of jewelry from all around the world that I have collected through my travels. I design each one as I go on through my journey in life being inspired by different events I experience, people I meet, and cities that I visit. So each design is very dear to my heart and represents a story. I was initially inspired by the mess of my jewelry box: seeing all the jewels together gave me the idea to design a pattern that incorporated all of my favorite pieces into one easy-to-wear accessory. Not only are my scarves statement pieces but they’re also functional as they can be worn around your neck during the winter or as a blouse, belt, or even purse strap during the spring and summer. Therefore, they never go out of season. These scarves are a fun, stylish, and edgy accessory that can be worn in so many different ways; the possibilities are endless. They match everything and will spice up any outfit!
Portfolio and Resume:
My portfolio features handcrafted designs that showcase my experience in designing fashion. My resume includes related skills as well as my educational and professional experiences obtaining to the fashion industry.
It’s important to express that I am not just another 20-something-year-old girl who generally likes nice clothing; I am a well-educated designer with a passion for styling. I have no doubt that my creative mind will contribute to the world of fashion in various different ways, and this website is to show people that I am a unique and valuable addition to the industry.
I want people to see me as a triple threat, which in the fashion world is defined as artist, designer, and stylist. I practice my skills as an artist each day when I pick out my clothes, and I also illustrate both by hand and on the computer. I turn my fashion designs into works of art whether they are croquis paper or patterns on fabric. I’m a designer because not only am I a creative drawer/thinker but also I can pattern-make, drape, sew…..everything. I have all the skills of a legitimate designer or seamstress that allow me to construct and design garments knowledgeably. Finally, I am a stylist. Although I don’t have much experience for styling editorial, I hope my blog will show that I am capable of styling for any occasion, both casual and formal. I have the capacity and the creativity to be a personal, celebrity, or magazine stylist. I love taking on challenges and I am highly motivated. I see fashion as wearable art, and it should be appreciated as so. I don’t want my followers and buyers just to see me as a lover of beautiful things but as one of the creators.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I had doing it!
xx
