Sorry I have been SOO bad with blogging lately. The next few outfits are still placed in NYC and taken by my new friend and very talented photographer, Andrew Morales! He is a very talented new photographer that I meat with a few weeks ago and I am so excited to share these next few posts with you while I am here in Austin. Once again, my apologies for lacking in the blogging department but things have been so hectic the last week at NYC meeting with printing companies, Soho Street Style Mag, and packing up for the next three weeks for Portugal and Austin. So if you follow me on Instagram you read that I had the WORST travel day of my life on Saturday. It’s actually exhausting even talking about it!! My flight was supposed to leave Newark at 11:30 am and then it got delayed and then canceled… that’s when I was transferred to the JFK airport to make the 8:45 flight home to Austin. After making a few new friends along the way and a 1:30 hour cab ride… I get to the JFK airport to find out the United airline lady actually didn’t transfer my flight correctly and I didn’t have a spot on the plane. Well luckily there was one spot left and I got it. So after going through the security and having a few drinks with my new friends, Mary and Bill, we FINALLY boarded our plane and took off to ATX. Upon my arrival I had no problems indulging in some new purchases for my troubles. I bought some Beats by Dre and some new items on Gilt. Even though now I’m broke, I love all my new things ☺. Yes anyways, I made some great new friends- Bill from Memphis and Mary from San Antonio who lives in Austin!
Well since then, I have celebrated Father’s Day and my parents’ 30th anniversary on Sunday and have been relaxing all week! Its been so great just relaxing and going on the lake, etc. I am sure I will elaborate on posts to come!
About the outfit, I took this shoot about a week before I left for Austin and clearly had Austin on my mind. I wanted to bring a little western vibe to the streets of NYC. I paired these “bloomer” –esque shorts with my Vince cropped sequin top and booties with my Aspen Scarf. It may not scream TEXAS but I get a Texan vibe from this outfit. I love how the different textures from the sequins and lace add some dimension to the look and keep it exciting with out mixing in too much color. The Aspen Scarf adds the perfect about of turquoise and blue to make the outfit pop a little bit more. I love the mixing of the neutral colors- grey, brown, and ivory- but the materials still keep the neutral colors interesting. I of course styled this Texan outfit with my gold splattered cow hair Cloud Nine Clutch by Kelly Wynne to add even more of a southern twist! Shop her bags here at KellyWynne.com! I am also wearing these Kendra Scott stackable rings— gotta support the local Austin designers :) And shop the Aspen Scarf and my other scarf designs in my Shop here on my website!!
