Fashion Designer and Style Blogger, Lexicon of Style by Alexandra Dieck– 2013- Present
I am an Austin, Texas native who recently moved to New York City to pursue my dreams as a fashion designer and style blogger. In my blog, I focus on teaching women how to re-envision their closets to get more use out of what they already own. I also design and sell digitally-printed silk scarves that are created by making patterns with pieces of jewelry I have collected through out my life. Each piece is inspired by my travels and experiences. I am working to build a new kind of fashion brand. I am not just another blogger or designer in the industry… My personal style and fashion designs communicate stories from my journey through life as I transition from Texas to New York and travel the world. I see fashion as a form of art, culture, history, and self-expression: the worst fashion mistake we can make is to look in the mirror and see someone else. My goal isn’t to be better than anyone else but different from the rest.
Team member of the UT in NYC program, University of Texas Human Ecology, New York, NY –2013
I was one of the Textile and Apparel design students chosen to attend the University of Texas in New York City trip led by Iris Apfel. During this week long trip we met with designers and companies such as Kate Spade, Jenna Lyons of J.Crew, Old World Weavers, Linda Fargo and the Bergdorf Goodman Team, Alexis Bittar, among so many other amazing designers and companies. The selection of students for this group was very exclusive and most importantly, we were mentored by fashion icon, Iris Apfel. This was a tremendous learning and working experience.

Although I was labeled as the design intern, I got to learn and work with different areas of the business. Through this experience I got to really observe and learn about the industry as a whole.
